Hide From The Hulk Combat Tips: Rescues and Portals
Keep your next contribution possible
- Rescue window: An ultimate that hits The Hulk during an execution cancels it and can save your friend.
- Portal caution: Strange’s portals are shared: soldiers, heroes, NPCs and The Hulk can all use them.
- Priority: Keep enough space to act when the next useful opening appears instead of spending every moment chasing damage.
Save a teammate during an execution
A practical combat improvement in Hide From The Hulk is recognizing when an ultimate can do more than add damage. Hitting The Hulk with an ultimate during an execution cancels that execution and saves the teammate. The important condition is the hit during the execution; simply having an ultimate ready is not the same as making the rescue.
If a teammate has the opportunity to make that hit, give them a clear call rather than turning the whole group into a confused rush. The hero demonstration below shows how quickly actions and positioning become pressured in an encounter. Plan your contribution before you are already caught in the same situation.
Treat every portal as a shared route
Doctor Strange’s portals are useful movement tools, but they are not private team doors. The game’s community update states that soldiers, heroes, NPCs and even The Hulk can use them. Do not stand beside an entrance assuming the opponent is excluded from it.
Make the destination part of your plan. After moving through a portal, look at where you have arrived and keep moving if the fight can follow. When you are helping another player, point out the useful route without promising that crossing it makes them safe. A shared shortcut can help your team and still become a route you need to leave.
| Moment | Combat priority |
|---|---|
| A friend is in an execution | Look for an ultimate hit that can interrupt it. |
| A portal leads away from the pressure | Use the route while remembering The Hulk can use it too. |
| You are crowding the same position | Make room so the group can continue moving and attacking. |
| A rescue opportunity has already passed | Reposition and contribute to the next opening instead of repeating a failed commitment. |
Protect the next useful opening
More aggression is not always more help. A player who rushes into a bad position can lose the chance to assist when another teammate needs them. Keep an exit available and avoid following The Hulk into space that gives you no useful way back.
Think about the action the team needs now. Sometimes that is damage; sometimes it is getting out of the way so another player can act, or staying available for an execution interruption. This is a practical priority choice, not a hidden damage bonus for playing cautiously.
A useful group call is short and specific: who is under pressure, where the opponent is, and whether someone can make the rescue hit. Avoid calling a successful save before the execution has actually stopped. The visible change in the encounter matters more than the intention behind the button press.
Reset after a failed commitment
If your action misses its useful window, stop treating the old opportunity as if it were still available. Make space, find the opponent again and decide how you can contribute next. Repeating the same rush can turn one missed chance into several players being caught together.
The guide to defeating The Hulk puts individual decisions into the larger group objective. Return to the soldier guide if the more basic problem is finding a position where you can stay involved.
For the next encounter, keep one combat improvement in mind: recognize an execution, respect a shared portal, or leave enough space to act again. Each is more useful than judging the whole attempt only by how often you attacked.
